SV Werder Bremen wins against FC Bayern for the first time in more than 15 years.

There is malice online for FCB - from the opponent of all people.

Bremen – What SV Werder Bremen achieved last Sunday in the Allianz Arena was nothing less than a historic achievement.

The North Germans hadn't won against FC Bayern in over 15 years - until January 21, 2024.

Then Mitchell Weiser sealed the much celebrated away win with his goal to make it 1-0 in the 59th minute.

While the hosts' frustration dominated afterwards and coach Thomas Tuchel was completely dissatisfied with his team's performance, the SVW were naturally very happy.

And the feelings of happiness apparently last for a few days.

At least that's what a look at the North Germans'

account suggests.

Several posts appeared there on Wednesday (January 24th) in which the people of Bremen made fun of the German record champions.

Bayern star Müller breaks off interview: SV Werder reacts on social media

The SVW first posted a picture of Bayern star Thomas Müller laughing and wrote: “We, when Starki turns on his Malle playlist...”.

Background: The FCB veteran broke off his interview in the mixed zone when Werder defender Niklas Stark showed up with a box and his music turned up.

Two more posts followed, the latter almost like an apology.

“The last time we won against you, there was no social media.

Please don’t take it against us, FC Bayern,” the Bremen team wrote on a video and tagged the Munich team’s account.

They weren't at a loss for an answer and commented with a handshake emoji: "It's all good, we're staying stable!"

Werder posts after the win against FC Bayern caused mixed feelings online

While a large part of football Germany was probably happy about the unexpected away win, even some of their own fans viewed the posts rather critically.

“It's a bit too much to exploit the victory like that,” notes one user, while another criticizes: “It's a good thing now.

A little more respect would be appropriate.

The focus should be on the next games.”

For others, however, social media activities provide amusement.

“Needle pricks over to Munich?

Gladly!

“We deserve it after 16 years,” says one comment.

One or two FCB supporters can also live with the contributions: “As a Bayern fan, I definitely don’t hold it against you.

Can take that with humor.

Good luck for the season!”

While SV Werder only continues in the Bundesliga against Freiburg on Saturday, the current second place in the Bundesliga table was challenged again on Wednesday evening.

The catch-up game against Union Berlin gave Munich three points and an upset.
