A serious illness put BVB player Julian Brandt out of action in the last few weeks.
Now the national player has made drastic comments about his suffering.
Dortmund – National player Julian Brandt was unavailable for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga for several weeks due to illness.
The offensive star had to pass against Bochum and Heidenheim; just last weekend he made a 25-minute comeback after being substituted in the win against Freiburg.
BVB star Julian Brandt talks about serious illness: “I was dead”
The exact illness still remains a mystery, because Brandt got it worse than initially thought.
The 27-year-old revealed this in an interview with Twitch live streamer “MontanaBlack”.
“I was dead. I was really knocked out for two weeks. I felt like I had the plague,” explains Brandt.

He even lost a total of six kilograms in weight.
“I had a fever for eight days.
This takes a while.
“Then you get impatient, stare at the wall, don’t eat anything,” says Brandt, explaining the weight loss and adding: “I can definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to go on a diet.”
The 47-time national player still doesn't know exactly which illness put him out of action.
“It's not entirely clear.
“In terms of symptoms, it was a tough flu,” said Brandt.
However, no corona disease was detected.

Brandt is on the mend after illness
The serious course of the illness is “not so great for the current football season” because he immediately noticed the effects when he returned against Freiburg.
“It's not as easy with the air, as if you hadn't done anything for six weeks,” reports Brandt.
However, he is now in better health again.
On Tuesday, Brandt was able to fully participate in BVB team training again for the first time.
Coach Erdin Terzic will then decide whether he can be in the starting line-up again in the next game against Wolfsburg (February 5, 3:30 p.m.).
