The American rider won his second big success of the year after his triumph at Paris-Nice at the beginning of March, where he was promoted to leader of his team.

He notably resisted attacks from Remco Evenepoel during the last stage to take the yellow jersey.

Thanks to this success in this classic, the 24-year-old native of Walnut Creek (California) presents himself as a serious outsider for the Tour of Flanders which will take place this Sunday.

Last year, the former Movistar rider finished the event in 9th place.
