Anyone who succeeds in FC Bayern's youth ranks has a good chance of a professional career.

NLZ boss Sauer names three key points on the talent path.

Munich – For the seventh time, FC Bayern has invited members to their regular meeting.

This time the record champions informed the participants about the work on campus.

Jochen Sauer, head of the youth department, answered the 50 guests' questions in detail and also had numbers with him.

“Whoever succeeds here will have open doors in the professional world.”

Jochen Sauer about the talents of FC Bayern.

Since the opening of the new youth training center in the north of Munich, 27 talents have celebrated their debut in the FC Bayern first team.

“More than a third of our trained talents make it into the professional camp,” calculates the 51-year-old.

According to Sauer, “personality development, academic training and sporting development” are the three key points in training the stars of tomorrow.

If you want to make it into paid football, you have to show grit and perseverance.

“You need a lot of discipline to manage the workload, but we give the talented people all the help they need,” says the Reutlingen native.

“One thing is clear: whoever prevails here will have open doors in the professional field.”

“We want exactly those kind of players.”

Jochen Sauer on the development of Aleksandar Pavlović.

Although many talents celebrate their breakthrough elsewhere and get started, training at FC Bayern guarantees a high chance of being able to realize their dream of professional football.

The club therefore has the highest demands on its own young talent.

“The goal for every junior player must be to play in the Champions League one day,” says Sauer.

The best example is high-flyer Aleksandar Pavlović, who can even hope for a place in Julian Nagelsmann's squad for the home European Championships in the summer.

“A native of Munich, who came to us as a junior, recorded 'Mia san Mia' - and always had only one goal: to assert himself here at FC Bayern.

We want exactly those kind of players.” (jb)
