Washington hoped to continue its streak, but after three wins the Wizards stopped tonight (between Wednesday and Thursday) and surrendered 122:119 to Brooklyn after overtime. Jordan Paul excelled and scored 38 points for Washington (and 8 assists), but missed a three-pointer that could have tied the score near the end of overtime. On the other side, Dorian Finney Smith missed two consecutive free throws in an attempt to secure the victory, Washington got one last chance to equalize, but Danny Avdia lost control of the ball when he tried to run quickly up the field, and the game ended in disappointment for him and his team, which went down to a score of 59:14.

Avdia once again posted good numbers, finishing with 17 points (5-for-10 from the field, 1-for-3 from three, 6-for-8 from free throws), 12 rebounds (2 offensive) and 3 assists, but the Israeli from Washington actually didn't score a single point In the fourth quarter and overtime, he left the arena to Kyle Kuzma and Paul mainly. With 12 seconds left in regulation time, tied, he drove to the basket in an attempt to score a decisive basket, but was blocked by Nick Claskton.
Kyle Kuzma scored 24 points for the Wizards, who had already erased a double-digit deficit in the second quarter, but were unable to close out the game. Cam Thomas, who scored 38 points for Brooklyn, was effective in overtime with two consecutive baskets, Dennis Schroeder added 21 points, Claxton finished with 17 and 13 for the Nets (45:28) who recorded their second consecutive victory after six losses.
