Defamed Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein is close to reaching a settlement in civil lawsuits against him over his sexual conduct over the years, the New York Times reports. Over 30 women who sued him together will receive $ 25 million, subject to the consent of all complainants and court approval. According to the report, Weinstein will not have to pay out of pocket or even admit his actions - the payment will be made through the insurance companies that handle Weinstein's bankruptcy proceeding. The fact that Weinstein is not required to accept responsibility for his actions leads to disappointment among the complainants, but in the first place their legal options were limited.

Even if the settlement is approved, Weinstein's legal troubles are far from over. On January 6, the Manhattan criminal trial will begin with a jury selection procedure sitting in the trial against him, dealing with alleged rape of a woman in 2013 and oral sex forcing another woman in 2006.

In recent years, Weinstein has been accused by dozens of women for rape, sexual harassment and indecent acts over the decades during which he was one of Hollywood's strongest producers.
