This is the first feature you need to enable when you install Wetsap: In recent months, the popular messaging app Wetsap is up to date with new features and enhanced security capabilities, but reports from around the world, including from Israel, are still coming out of personal accounts. Not only does it have over a billion and a half active users every month - the app is completely free and very simple to install, but it comes at a cost that can be exploited relatively simply. Fortunately, besides the security updates, Wetsap has added some very simple options to protect your account, including a 6-digit identification code, as well as 2-step verification that will be used as an additional security measure.

This is a very familiar problem with Wetsap; Someone you know is asking you for a 6-digit code that is just about to be sent to you via SMS. On the surface, this is a completely unfounded request, especially when it comes to someone you trust. However, using this code, anyone can log in to your Wetsap account and leave you disconnected. And although there is a simple solution - resend the code and reconnect to your account - the hacker can enter the wrong code several times to lock you out of the account for up to a week. During this time, he can send a message to anyone who wants to name you, and take control of your friends' accounts for the Wetsap groups.

As early as 2019, we reported that this wave of burglaries has reached Israel as well, and to this day reports continue to be that such burglaries continue to happen around the world. And even though the built-in options in the app won't protect you in the event of a hack like Amazon's Jeff Jeffs device, they'll add an extra layer of protection to keep your account in your hands. These solutions can even save you just in case you were locked out To your account, or worse, if your account fell into someone else's hands.

This is how you protect your wetsap account

First, if you are not in the process of setting up the WhatsApp on your smartphone and suddenly you received a 6-digit message from WhatsApp, you should not share it with anyone, even with people you trust. You should also avoid clicking on the link in it. Once the attacker verifies the code, he takes full control of the victim's wetsap. Therefore, if you receive a message containing the verification code, do not send it to anyone. You should also define a 6-digit code to be used as a second means of identification after trying to reinstall the app. To do this, go to the Wetsap settings, click on an account, and then click 2-step verification, add the code you want, and then your email address to finish the setup process.

This is not the first time such a case is reported in Israel and worldwide. In fact, the first wave of attacks was reported last year as UK users began to lose access to their Wetsap account. Local forums have begun to receive dozens of unsuspecting and frustrated users, and it seems that in recent months, these cases have reached Israel as well. Wutsap support line inquiries were not answered and the victims were left without access to their account and unable to recover it. According to Wetsap, the world's most popular messaging service has over 1.5 billion users in 180 countries. 29 million messages are sent every minute and no less than 65 billion messages are sent every day.
