It is the eighth model in the compact range: the new Mercedes Benz GLA will be unveiled at the next Geneva Motor Show. The Stella's compact SUV now sports all its muscular character and an even more muscular line than the previous generation. The new GLA measures 1,611 millimeters in height, which is more than 10 centimeters more than its predecessor; in addition, the raised position of the seats, typical of SUVs, also guarantees greater headroom in the front compartment. The legroom in the rear has also grown a lot, despite the fact that GLA has lost an inch and a half in length. The typical design elements of off-road driving are the vertical front, short overhangs in front and behind and protective cladding on all sides. The 4MATIC models are equipped as standard with the Offroad technical package, which includes an additional driving program, the aid for downhill driving, an Offroad animation in the multimedia display and, in combination with the Multibeam LED headlights, a special lighting function for off-road driving. Stella's baby SUV debuts with five tailor made versions, tailor-made for the Italian market: Executive, Business, Sport, Sport Plus and Premium and prices starting from 38,270 euros for the GLA 200 d Automatic Executive.
The compact SUV takes a step forward on safety with its driver assistance systems that actively help the driver. The package has been expanded and now includes, for example, the turn assistance function, the emergency corridor function, the side impact prevention system in the presence of cyclists or vehicles approaching and the warning that warns people on the lines pedestrian. With four-cylinder engines, the latest generation assistance systems that help the driver, the MBUX Infotainment system and the comfort management of the Energizing programs, GLA has all the strengths of the current generation of compact Mercedes-Benz. '' With the introduction of the new GLA, we have completed the renewal of our compact range - said Britta Seeger, member of the executive board of Daimler AG and head of the Sales Division of Mercedes-Benz Cars - The huge demand registered by our SUVs shows that here we have the right model for all our customers. To meet their wishes, the range also includes GLB and GLA, two off-road vehicles that complement each other perfectly. ''
Produced in Rastatt (Germany), Hambach (France) and Beijing (China) for the local market, the new GLA will arrive in the European dealerships in spring 2020.
