A fire broke out in Fresnes prison (Val-de-Marne) on Sunday evening, around 11 p.m., in the midst of tensions linked to containment measures. Late in the evening, the firefighters were still there, mobilizing several trucks to deal with the incident.
This took place outside the detention area, at the level of old kitchens which have been used as storage areas for several years. According to a union source, it was caused by jets of flammable projectiles launched by detainees, whose cells are directly on the roof of this building.
