Good evening,

Today, on this 52nd day of confinement, Prime Minister Édouard Philippe has delivered the final arbitrations of his deconfinement plan which will take place as planned on May 11. The Prime Minister was cautious as the specter of a second epidemic wave looms over France. The Hexagon is thus cut in half . The regions of Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Burgundy and Grand Est are classified in "red". The head of government again wanted to put an end to the rumors of dissension between him and Emmanuel Macron. Finally, if the May 11 deadline has been confirmed, the French are approaching this new challenge with a hint of concern .

2. What happened today

Édouard Philippe unveils the post-May 11th. His speech was eagerly awaited. Since Matignon, surrounded by the six ministers most concerned by the file, the Prime Minister presented with a mixture of restraint and caution the conditions of the deconfinement from Monday. "We must be collectively cautious, and the hypothesis of a restarting of the epidemic would be so difficult to support for our country, so dangerous for our country, that we want to proceed gradually," he explained. Health, education, transport, economy ... The editorial staff of Le Figaro has summarized what should be remembered from numerous announcements from the government. Our journalists will also explain what will change sector by sector from next week. Stanislas Poyet, for his part, was interested in what he was going to be allowed or not to do after the lifting of the confinement.

The deconfinement map of France presented this Thursday, May 7 by the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran. Le Figaro

France cut in half. Speaking following Edouard Philippe, the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, unveiled the no less awaited final map of deconfinement. Four metropolitan regions are listed in red: Île-de-France, Grand Est, Bourgogne Franche-Comté and Hauts-de-France. Note the confinement maintained in Mayotte. Increased vigilance will be observed, as in the Paris region. In the “red” zones, colleges, parks and gardens will remain closed until further notice. Strict distancing measures will also have to be observed in transport, especially in Île-de-France, where users will have to have a new certificate filled in by their employer from 11 May. Throughout the country, the French will be able to move within a radius of 100 kilometers as the crow flies around their home. Our journalist Laura Andrieu explains why this precise distance was chosen by the government.

An annoyed prime minister. The Prime Minister ended his press conference ostensibly annoyed by a question about the state of his relationship with Emmanuel Macron, after almost three years of living together. "For three years, I have always been able, in our relationships, to enjoy a confidence, a fluidity which, I believe, has few precedents ", he congratulated himself, getting angry with those who relay the idea of tensions. Our political editorialist, Guillaume Tabard, welcomes a welcome change at home: "This confirmation of the May 11 deadline allows the Prime Minister to significantly reduce his role as Cassandra." In his eyes, the division of roles between the two heads of the executive "had fueled the harmful chronicle of disagreement at the top of the state" . Behind the scenes, however, the final arbitrations were the source of tension and hesitation between ministries and administrations, tells us Marcelo Wesfreid of the Political Service. And in the eyes of the opposition, many questions remain unanswered.

The French face deconfinement. Our journalist Caroline Piquet questioned throughout the day the French to find out their doubts and their desires at the approach of deconfinement. “They talk about back to school, about sport, about work, about their organizational problem. Some are optimistic and impatiently await this May 11 while others fear this moment, "she explains. Her colleague Claire Conruyt asked them how, after eight months of confinement, they envision these strange reunions where the fear of the virus promises to be in everyone's mind. "It's crazy to find your family and say to yourself: what if I contaminate them?" Alexander tells him, in particular, who would like to visit his in-laws. In some, the end of confinement is apprehended with concern as they were used to living happily in their cocoon.
