Hyundai Santa Fe celebrates 20 years and for the occasion the South Korean company announces news on the model, the longest-lasting of the brand in the European market. Now in its fourth generation, over the years it has undergone a significant evolution in terms of design, safety and technology, paving the way for the arrival of new equipment and functionality on all models of the brand. In the coming months Hyundai will launch an evolution of the current Santa Fe, with new electrified engines and updates in terms of design.

After its launch twenty years ago, Santa Fe has quickly become one of the best known Hyundai models in the world.

It takes its name from a city in the southwestern United States and was the brand's first SUV, playing a key role in Hyundai's success in the segment. Unlike the other Hyundai models, Santa Fe has its own logo that places the name alongside a sun, while its name has remained unchanged over time, carrying on its legacy to the present day.

In the past 20 years, there are more than 5,260,000 units of SantaFevenduti worldwide.

Hyundai first presented the Santa Fe to the European public during the 2000 Geneva Motor Show. The first generation had a massive but refined look and was basically a longer and wider model than many of its rivals in the segment (since 2003 it was available with more powerful engine and a computerized four-wheel drive system).

In 2006 the second generation (unveiled at the North American International Motor Show) arrived with a new 2.2-liter diesel engine and an updated 2.7-liter V6 petrol engine. The third row of seats (five to seven seats) is introduced for the first time on the model.

Since 2012 it was the turn of the third generation that has focused everything on security and connectivity. The fourth generation with an even bolder design and SmartSense security package is currently available.

Among the safety features there is also the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance, which analyzes an area at 180 degrees behind the vehicle, warning the driver and applying the brakes if necessary to avoid collisions. In addition, for the first time on a Hyundai car, the fourth generation of Santa Fe offers a full head-up display and is available with an advanced HTRAC electronically controlled all-wheel drive system that transfers torque to the front or rear wheels using different modes. driving and adapting to different road conditions.
