Facebook's messaging app is expected to allow you to add new contacts soon by scanning a QR code, according to a WABetaInfo blog post. And although this is quite a minor change, adding contacts to the app can be cumbersome and lengthy.
How will it work? Next to your name in the profile that uses the app you will see a QR code sign. Clicking on it will open a tab on a separate screen to show to your friends, or share with your contacts.
It's worth noting that once you share the code with people - you also share your phone number. And what can you do if your number reaches the wrong person? By WABetaInfo you can cancel the QR code or replace it an unlimited number of times.
Although the feature is currently available in beta, there is no mention of the date we may see it officially coming to the app. Meanwhile, Feature is currently unavailable for the iOS operating system.
