A few hundred people participated in static rallies in Paris and Bordeaux (Gironde) on Monday in tribute to George Floyd, a black American killed during an arrest by the police in Minneapolis.
In the capital, several associations, including SOS Racisme, had called for a "silent and symbolic" meeting in front of the United States embassy to denounce "a racist crime perpetrated by the police".
Images posted on social networks by freelance journalist Clément Lanot show dozens of knee-to-ground protesters, a sign of rallying to the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

The Parisian demonstrators, who held in their hands posters "Justice for George Floyd", "I can't breathe" ("I can't breathe", Editor's note) or even "Floyd in the USA, Traore in France" were dislodged without apparent clashes by the police.
300 demonstrators in Bordeaux
In Bordeaux, nearly 300 people gathered under the same slogans on the forecourt of Human Rights in the city center. “We don't want to be spectators in the face of racism. Neither in the USA, nor in France ”, explained the organizers in their call for the rally broadcast on Sunday via social networks.
