Uncertainties about the excess risk of developing a serious form of Covid for cancer patients greatly complicate their management. Difficult for the moment to "conclude for or against a Covid-19 risk for patients with solid tumors" , notes Professor Benjamin Besse, head of the department of oncological medicine at Gustave-Roussy (Villejuif). But if cancer increases the risk associated with Covid, patients and caregivers may be "confronted with difficult decisions (…), such as suspending or continuing anticancer treatments" , or even anticipating decisions relating to the end of life, note the authors of an American study conducted on 928 patients and published in The Lancet .
