On a highly concentrated and intensive day of driving - where we drove about 80 miles on the best challenging trails in the Judean Desert - including places of horror such as "Death Round" and "The Hell Mountain", the PRO package proved its capabilities as it improved every possible dimension of the Trayton's surface capacity.
Calibration of the suspensions is very accurate - and suitable for the task - with excellent restraint of the carriage, good balance to the rear and good resistance to rack closure. This allows for fast-paced ironing of trails, but also maintains a long racking course in offense obstacles. The grip of the ground has since been improved thanks to the most durable terrain tires, which have been able to reduce air pressure to maximize the grip and comfort in the wilderness.
In our experience over the years installing such kits (racks plus full shielding) comes with the price of road noise (from the aggressive tires) and the propulsion system noise (from the aluminum shields that echo the mechanics) - here we found only a small increase in tire noise on the tarmac and no noise was recorded.
By the way - there is no touch in the original propulsion system. It is still the same 2.2L turbo diesel engine that produces 150 hp and almost 41 kg - the power transmission is through a 6-speed automatic gearbox and there is a great transfer - Super Select - with LOW and also a 4x4 on the road thanks to differential central. Other area features include grip management maps for: dirt, mud and rocks. Downhill control that turned out to be the most effective and original back-deep diff lock that we didn't use at all - but it's good to sleep.
Unlike previously accepted - Mitsubishi noted that any handling, service or repair of the various parts of the kit will be done at Mitsubishi Service Centers and that the customer will not be referred to the vendor to make repairs. This is a significant advantage for vehicle owners. In the same breath, it can be noted that since the appraiser comes from the importer there is no violation of responsibility - something that many field people have learned about their meat the hard way.
So who is the PRO package suitable for? If you ask the Mitsubishi people they will say that it is suitable for those who work in the field - farmers or contractors and those who are looking for a multi-purpose 4x4 vehicle for trips without paying the price of a much more expensive leisure vehicle. If you ask me - tell me that the added value that the PRO package brings to Trayton far exceeds its current price and improves every parameter of the original pickup - even its locks. so yes. Go for PRO.
