"We dare not imagine our future life, the development costs will be enormous ...", breathes Camille. On April 17, in Aunay-sur-Odon (Calvados), her friend Elise was attacked in her car by her ex-spouse before the eyes of their 3-month-old daughter. Victim of two stab wounds - one in the neck and the other in the neck -, Elise, 25, will remain quadriplegic. To help her childhood friend, Camille launched the Solidaire online kitty with Elise who became disabled #violencesconjugales. The goal: to meet the medical and legal costs to be incurred. "We also want her to have a good chair and accommodation suited to her new life," she explains.
After assaulting Elise, "left her for dead" alongside their daughter. "Fortunately, it happened in front of the pharmacy. It was during confinement, there was no one on the streets, ”says Camille. The employees of the dispensary rescued the young woman, then taken care "between life and death" by the CHU of Caen. She is now in a specialized establishment. The couple's baby has been placed in foster care. “Elise only sees her daughter two to three times a week, she feels like she is missing out on precious moments with her baby. It is the most difficult for her, “says Camille.
Ex-boyfriend faces life in prison
The couple had known each other for two years. During confinement, in order to start a separation with her husband, Elise went to live with her grandparents. "We suppose that he could not bear the rupture and that he felt that he no longer had control over her", saddens Camille, who however does not suspect previous violence. Elise was a manager in a fast food establishment. "Full of projects", she wanted to open her own establishment.
Her ex-husband was charged with attempted murder and placed in pre-trial detention. He faces life imprisonment. “The investigation is under way. Even if there is not too much doubt as to its outcome, the trial will surely not be held before 2022, ”explains Maître Aline Lebret, the victim's lawyer. For the time being, Elise's relatives are planning her future life. The prize pool, open since April 20, has exceeded 35,000 euros.
