The Israeli cyber warrior company NSO, whose software was allegedly used for espionage around the world, will stand trial in a lawsuit in the United States. This is after a judge in California approved the continuation of the legal process.
NSO was sued by a Facebook-owned WhatsApp company as early as last year. The company accused NSO of sending malware to 1,400 users over a two-week period and tracking their cell phones.

The lawsuit will be filed in California District Court Judge Phyllis Hamleton said she was not at all convinced by the NSO group's claim that it has no role in monitoring WhatsApp users. Instead, the judge noted that it appears that the company "held some position" in monitoring people. This is even if it is done through the company's customers.
From today the procedure will continue when both parties can demand relevant documents and recordings. Against this background, further information on the various follow-up cases may be revealed.
