A rescue and search operation was still underway this Sunday evening, off Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône). An individual disappeared at sea in the afternoon, after being ejected from a semi-rigid in Goudes, reports France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
The 65-year-old man, according to France Bleu Provence, was taking a boat trip with five other members of his family. At around 4:30 p.m., the six passengers were thrown into the water, for some reason.
Three ships and two helicopters
The Regional Center for Surveillance and Rescue Operations in the Mediterranean Sea (Cross Med) launched a search and rescue operation. "Four people were quickly rescued and one seriously injured person was taken care of," said a press release from the maritime prefect for the Mediterranean.
