While the sale of 0 km cars had a sharp drop of almost 40% in the past month, the used model market also showed red numbers but with a less pronounced decline.
During July 147,252 units were sold , reflecting a drop of 11.5% compared to the same month last year, when 166,401 units had been sold.
The Ford EcoSport was among the top 10 most.
When compared to June (128,037 units), an increase of 15% is reflected , as reported by the Automotive Chamber of Commerce (CCA).
In any case, in the seven months that have been accounted for this year, the accumulated sales volume reaches 744,163 units , 24.11% less than in the same period of 2019 (980,560 vehicles).
For the president of the CCA, Alberto Príncipe, the negative number he threw last month "is undoubtedly given for the first 20 days of July when the premises were closed at the AMBA", since "50% of sales at the country level are made in these districts ”.
"With respect to the interior (said the manager), in most provinces the agencies sold practically the same volume as in a good month of January or February."
Principe warned that "the replacement (of vehicles in the dealerships) is complicated but in certain provinces it is critical."
And he stressed that " people buy with dollars or cash . The delivery of the used car in transactions has been reduced considerably. Also, people do not finance, they do not want to get into debt."
From the camera they believe that "to the extent that quarantine allows the premises of the agencies to open their doors daily, there is no doubt that sales volumes will gradually return to normal."
