Russia is in the center of all eyes. Moscow's recent announcement about the registration of the first coronavirus vaccine caused everyone to focus their attention on the country chaired by Vladimir Putin.

Zetta, the cheapest electric car in the world will cost 6,126 dollars

Although it is the most important news of the last hours, Russia also scored first in the list made up of the most economical electric cars in the world.

The Zetta (Zero Emission Terra Transport Asset), developed by the start-up Russian Engineering and Manufacturing СCompany (REMC), costs $ 6,126 and its final version will be ready by the end of 2020, although it must still be homologated.

If it meets the announced price, the Zetta will become the cheapest electric car to reach the market, with a lower price than other low-cost zero-emission proposals, including the Argentine company Volt Motors and its $ 12,000 car .

The Zetta has dimensions similar to those of a smart EQ fortwo (it is 30 centimeters shorter): 3.03 meters long; 1.27 m. wide and 1.60 m. High.

It has four electric motors, one in each wheel, which have an individual power of 20 kW (equivalent to 27 horsepower) and 80 kW (107 horsepower) together, which allow it to reach a maximum speed of 120 km / h.

The Zetta is 3 meters long. It will have a range of 200 kilometers.

The engines are powered by a 10 kWh battery that, according to the Russian company, allows the vehicle to achieve a range of 200 kilometers , well above the 130 kilometers of the smart EQ fortwo, which also has a battery that is almost twice as large. capacity (17.6 kWh). Although we will have to wait for the final homologation figures.

REMC announced that the initial annual production of the Zetta will be 15,000 units, and that it will be destined for several markets in addition to Russia. It only remains to start its manufacture, for which REMC has requested a loan from the Russian government of 1,367,000 dollars.
