"It must also be made clear that there may be legal consequences for the posters." Neubauer complains against Hetzer on social media and demands more commitment from tech companies

The Frankfurt am Main regional court has issued an injunction against right-wing populist author Akif Pirinçci because of a Facebook post. This emerges from court documents that are available to SPIEGEL. Pirinçci had commented on a photo of the "Fridays for Future" activist Luisa Neubauer, which a right-wing politician had posted, with a sexist humiliation.
For Neubauer, it is just one of countless sexist and insulting comments that she comes across on social media. Your lawsuit should be a clear sign against online hatred.
SPIEGEL: Ms. Neubauer, since when have you been struggling with sexist comments on social media?
Neubauer: It has been a permanent phenomenon since I made public statements about politics. As soon as I post something on Twitter or Instagram, the hateful comments come after a few minutes.
SPIEGEL: What do these comments say?
Neubauer: Everything is there: insults, sexualized memes, humiliations. Sometimes the comment is only a word long, sometimes people write entire essays about a top of me, from which they somehow deduce that I am "screwed up". The sexualized hatred in the comments often irritates the forums in which people fantasize about my rape.
SPIEGEL: What is your strategy for dealing with this?
Neubauer: Part of my strategy is to sit here and talk to you about it. It's not just about showing what's going on on the net. But above all to show how and that one can defend oneself. Because part of the problem is that we as women are asked, "Oh, what are you doing with it and what is this hatred doing to you?" Far too seldom is the question asked: "Where does this hatred come from?" We are not talking about a conflict between me and the hater, but about structural misogyny, sexism and misogyny, which are expressed everywhere and more and more radically.
"Female activists get a lot of hate speech."
SPIEGEL: Facebook, Instagram or Twitter: On which social network do you get the most hateful comments?
