A septuagenarian is suspected of having fired a rifle on his psychiatrist Wednesday morning in Annecy (Haute-Savoie). The thirty-year-old victim was hospitalized, his vital prognosis is "very involved" according to the police.
The man, aged 75, allegedly shot the doctor in his office, rue Carnot, before fleeing. He was then arrested in the parking lot of a shopping center in the city.
"Currently with the firefighters, he will be placed in custody," said the police in Annecy. An investigation was opened by the judicial police.
The perimeter of downtown Annecy has been sealed off, according to Le Dauphiné Libéré. The gunshot heard in the pedestrian street caused a slight movement of panic.
