While trying to get out of control, the driver accelerated and hit one of the gendarmes who was facing him, before fleeing.

The fleeing driver is still wanted this Saturday.

In the night from Friday to Saturday, around 3 a.m., a driver refused to be checked by gendarmes in the town of Saint-Égrève in the Isère region, France Bleu reports.

While trying to get out of control, the driver accelerated and hit one of the gendarmes who was facing him, before fleeing.

According to Le Dauphiné libéré, the driver hit the door of the car of one of the soldiers, which had remained open and hit one of them, aged 25.

The latter was injured on a rib as well as on the tibia and was transported to the hospital in Grenoble.

His days are not in danger.

An open investigation

The gendarmes of the Meylan search brigade are looking for the fugitive.

The Grenoble prosecutor's office entrusted them with an investigation for "refusal to comply and violence with weapons on a person holding public authority", indicates France Bleu.

Since the beginning of the summer, several members of the security forces have been injured, even killed, during hit-and-run offenses.

In July, in Lot-et-Garonne, a 25-year-old gendarme died after being struck at 130 km / h by a man driving without a license, who was trying to escape a traffic check.

In Le Mans last week, a 43-year-old policeman also died after being struck by a 26-year-old motorist, already convicted of refusing to comply, while he was trying to flee.

In Saint-Malo, in mid-August, a police officer was also injured by a driver.

"There is clearly in society more and more a refusal of authority [...] it is worrying", lamented the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin, after this tragedy.
