The far-right activist Hervé Lalin, known as Ryssen, was imprisoned Friday in execution of three sentences to prison terms for anti-Semitic or negationist remarks, we learned Sunday from the Paris prosecutor's office.

Hervé Lalin was summoned Thursday by the judicial police and then presented to a magistrate who ordered the execution of these sentences pronounced between 2017 and 2020, for a total remaining of 17 months of imprisonment, specified the prosecution.

This activist, accustomed to the 17th correctional chamber of the Paris court specializing in press offenses, was convicted again in January for negationism, insults and defamation of an anti-Semitic nature and incitement to hatred against Jews.

"The previous convictions have clearly not been of a nature to dissuade"

The court this time imposed eight months in prison and a fine of 5,000 euros for passages from a book published in 2018, "Anti-Semitism without complex or taboo, Plea for freedom of expression".

"The previous convictions have clearly not been such as to dissuade" the defendant from committing new offenses, the court then found.

In June 2018, the criminal court had imposed one year in prison, the maximum penalty incurred, for anti-Semitic messages in a video on the YouTube platform, entitled "Jews, incest and hysteria".

In October 2017, the court found him guilty for posts deemed anti-Semitic on Twitter and Facebook.

In December 2018, Paris Match had put Hervé Ryssen on the front page, without knowing who he was, in a photo where he wore a “yellow vest” in front of a mobile gendarme in front of the Arc de Triomphe.
