One week after the announcement of the collaboration with Leo Messi to serve as ambassador for the Israeli Orcam, last night (Sunday) the company announced that it has won the NRW.INVEST AWARD award in Germany, an award given annually to four exemplary companies that contribute exceptionally to the local economy. NRW (short for North Rhine-Westphalia) is the most populous province in Germany and one of the most important economic centers in the country.

Germany is considered one of the key countries for Orcam, in view of the comprehensive cooperation with the health insurance companies in the country, which allows full financing of the OrCam MyEye device for the blind and visually impaired in the country.
As part of the company's growth trend in Europe, Orkam is deepening its collaborations with government officials and public bodies in Germany, and in particular the NRW district in the west of the country which is associated with innovation and technology.
Orcam was founded in 2010 by Professor Amnon Shashua and Ziv Aviram, the founders of Mobilai, with the vision to harness the power of artificial vision to change the lives of people with various disabilities around the world.
Orcam is currently a leader in the development of computer vision-based and artificial intelligence-based wearable technologies designed to provide independence for the blind, visually impaired, people with reading and learning difficulties, the hard of hearing and other populations.

OrCam MyEye is a wireless and compact device that attaches to any frame of glasses using a Magetti connector, and is able to recognize text from any surface and read it to the user's ear in real time.
The device is based on artificial vision technology, and it allows reading text from newspapers, books, computer and smartphone screens, menus, supermarket products and street signage - all the textual environment that surrounds the user on a daily basis is accessible to him in an instant.
In addition to these, OrCam MyEye is equipped with face recognition technology and even allows users to scan barcodes, and identify bills and colors.
It is the only wearable artificial vision technology that is activated in an intuitive pointing motion or by tracking the user's gaze, without the need for a smartphone or internet connection.
