The investigation into the savage chopper attack perpetrated Friday morning near the former premises of Charlie Hebdo does indeed take a terrorist turn.

Arrested quickly after the facts, a suspect of Pakistani origin, Ali H., confessed during his first hearing in the premises of the anti-terrorism section (SAT) of the Paris criminal brigade.

According to corroborating sources, this man born in 2002 in Islamabad admitted to being the author of the attack, accepted his act and explained that he had deliberately targeted two people in rue Nicolas-Appert (Paris XI) because this housed the premises of Charlie Hebdo.

“He says he thought he was at Charlie's and the people he was attacking were from the satirical newspaper.

He says he has scouted, ”says a relative of the investigation.

But the newspaper is now installed in ultra-secure places kept secret since the attacks of January 2015.

Who is Ali H., the alleged assailant?

According to our information, Ali H. also indicated that he was "angry" after seeing the republication of the cartoons of Mohammed by Charlie Hebdo on the occasion of the opening of the trial of the killings perpetrated by the Kouachi brothers in their former premises.

At this stage, however, it is not known whether the suspect acted in response to calls from the terrorist group Al-Qaeda, which made new threats against the satirical newspaper for the cartoons.

The video surveillance shows the suspect to pass several times in front of the former premises of Charlie Hebdo on Friday morning before taking action.

Two employees of First Lines, a production company formerly neighboring the premises of the satirical newspaper, were seriously injured in the attack but their lives are no longer in danger.

The custody ball

At the same time, investigators carried out six other police custody: a man with whom Ali H. stayed in a social hotel in Cergy (Val-d'-Oise) and five others with whom he lived in Pantin (Seine-Saint -Denis) at the time of the incident.

At this stage, these are classic environmental hearings: the police are trying to find out if the suspects had knowledge of their friend's deadly project and if they were able to provide him with assistance.

Another man of Algerian origin was also heard by the criminal brigade before being released overnight from Friday to Saturday.

He was seen chatting with the terrorist soon after the attack.

In fact, the man told investigators that he had tried to arrest the suspect and that the latter had threatened him, comments confirmed by video surveillance from the RATP metro.
