It is the heart of a mother speaking.

A battered mother, for whom the news of Victorine's death necessarily has a special resonance.

Jennifer de Araujo, the mother of Maëlys, the 8-year-old girl kidnapped and killed in Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Isère) in 2017 gave this Tuesday her support to the relatives of the young woman.

“My thoughts are with Victorine's family and friends,” she wrote on Facebook.

"What a horror, the impression of reliving the drama that my daughter Maëlys experienced 3 years ago, same department, same research section on the investigation," she continues.

Victorine, evaporated when she was simply returning home… For Maëlys' mother, there is little room for doubt.

She speaks of a "horrible criminal act" and encourages the inhabitants of Villefontaine, potential witnesses, to report to the investigators.

The Farina case, a still alive wound

Villefontaine who, in the past, has already experienced a traumatic episode: that of serial rapes committed by a school principal in the town, unmasked in March 2015. Romain Farina had misled the principle of “taste workshops”, testing to the children of flavors, blindfolded ... In reality, a sordid pretext to obtain blowjobs.

The investigation, which had revealed shortcomings of justice and caused a national scandal, concluded that Romain Farina had made nearly 50 victims throughout his career.

A still alive wound: the man committed suicide in detention in 2016, depriving his victims of trial.

Several of them have attacked the state for misconduct - proceedings still ongoing.
