Emmanuel Macron and Jean Castex decided to toughen the device in place during a lunch on Monday.
They will formalize their decisions after two Defense Councils, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Three scenarios are being studied:
(1)
Bring forward the curfew a few hours and close certain places open to the public
(such as universities, but not schools, colleges and high schools).
(2) Extend the curfew on weekdays
- by setting it at 7 p.m., for example - and
combine it with confinement on weekends
and massive recourse to teleworking.
This would preserve a semblance of economic life, while limiting private interactions.
This is the preferred scenario.
(3) Local reconfinements from 2 to 4 weeks
, possibly extendable.
"
One thing is certain, it will not be the confinement of the month of March
", however, indicates a government adviser.
