Volkswagen T7 Multivan, absolute modernity on the Golf 8 platform
Now is the time - or rather it will be at the end of the year as model year 2022 - for the T7, that is, the heir to the current generation evening. A modern and 'intelligent' vehicle to produce, based on the MQB platform of the Golf 8 and therefore closely related to this model in terms of engines and electronic technologies. As described by the specialized magazine Autoevolution - proposing numerous images of a forklift being tested in winter and two sketches of the final appearance - the Volkswagen T7 Multivan (windowed version for passenger transport) and T7 Transporter (van for goods) will have nothing to do with the future Bulli. The re-edition of the Type 2 in an electric key and inspired by the ID Buzz concept of 2017, will in fact be industrialized on the same MEB electric 'skateboard' architecture used by the various ID.3, ID.4 and ID.6 and therefore will have no technical relationship with the new commercial Volkswagen T7 Multivan will instead be a traditional vehicle, with the same engines as the Golf 8 including the modern 2.0 turbodiesel with twin dosing that eliminates almost all harmful emissions and with the novelty - for a Vw commercial vehicle - of a hybrid version plug-in, which combines a 4-cylinder 1.4 with an electric motor and an adequately sized lithium-ion battery. FWD and also all-wheel drive versions will be available.
