The member states of the European Union, which have united to buy together 2.5 billion doses of seven different vaccines against Covid (if they are validated by the European Medicines Agency), did not start first on the starting line of vaccinations, overtaken by the United Kingdom, the United States or Israel which began to vaccinate earlier and faster.

On Tuesday, the European Commission called on the 27 countries to "
accelerate
" the pace of vaccinations, setting two goals: vaccinate 70% of adults by the end of August and 80% of health professionals and those over 80 years old. March.
