Apple is currently working on a new category that it intends to enter next year (2022), virtual reality glasses (VR), according to an advertisement from the Bloomberg website by Mark Grumman, who has a long history when it comes to leaking Apple products and services.

The new glasses will be similar to those of the Facebook Oculus Quest 2, and will work on batteries that are charged with an internal fan.

According to the report, Apple's glasses will be made of soft fabric and the company is currently working on the weight and comfort.

Apple is also examining a number of options for external cameras installed on the glasses that will allow VR operations such as a virtual keyboard and more.

According to Grumman, Apple plans to launch the VR glasses as early as next year (2022) but in a slightly different format.

Between 1,000 and 1,500 people are currently working on the project at Apple.

Glasses do not yet have a name or price, but the code name is N301 and they are expected to be expensive.

So expensive that Apple intends to offer one unit for sale a day in a physical store, and up to 200,000 units in the first year.

Like other Apple products, here too the company will offer software updates and full interface with the iPhone.

Grumman emphasizes that we will not need the iPhone to use the glasses, but we have the feeling that Apple will require an interface between the iPhone and the glasses in order to receive software updates and management of the glasses just as it did with the smartwatch at the beginning of its journey.

Not just AR, Apple is working on augmented reality (AR) glasses that will be similar to those introduced by Google several years ago.

These are two different projects that will work differently, with Apple AR glasses looking just like regular sunglasses or eyeglasses that will contain a camera, microphone and speaker.
