New drama for the world of hunting. A 72-year-old hunter was accidentally killed on Sunday during a hunting trip in Meurthe-et-Moselle by the shooting of another hunter who was taken into custody, the prosecutor's office in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) said on Monday. According to France Bleu Sud Lorraine, firefighters intervened, but failed to save the injured person.
The "fatal accident" occurred in the morning "during a hunting action organized by (the Approved Communal Hunting Association, ACCA) of Gondreville," a commune west of Nancy, said public prosecutor François Capin-Dulhoste. "The 57-year-old gunman and the victim, a 72-year-old man, are two participants," he added. "The suspect was taken into custody as part of an investigation on the charge of manslaughter entrusted to the Toul research brigade," the magistrate added.
