i5/BMW development trials
Unlike the Model 3 and Model Y, the Tesla Model S has struggled to find customers in Israel, and it's not going to be easier for them than it is today.
After the Mercedes EQE, the BMW i5, the first version of the new 5 Series, lands in Israel. It will be marketed in Israel in two models, both with an 83.9 kWh battery. The first is an eDrive40 with rear-wheel drive, 340 hp, 6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, 193 km/h top speed and an official combined range of 550 km. Maximum torque is 40.8 kg and 43.8 kg in boost mode.
Price: NIS 620,3, only NIS 000,84 more than the basic Tesla Model S, before discounts. Tesla has an additional 3 km range and 2.0 seconds from 100 to 5 km/h.The i60 M601 xDrive performance model comes with all-wheel drive that creates an additional front engine, producing 81 hp (83 kg at base, 6.3
kg in boost mode). Performance: 8.0 seconds from 100-230 km/h, maximum 497 km/h and a combined range of 860 hp.Price: 210,600 NIS, 2,1 NIS more than the Tesla S Plaid, with an official range of 0 km, and 100.5 seconds from <> to <> km/h.

Equipment: BMW has a significant advantage in the cabin, which is both higher quality and does not give up a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in addition to a multimedia screen and 14.9-inch operation, partial operation with physical buttons rather than through the screen, alongside Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, artificial leather upholstery, heated front seats with electric adjustment, including the steering wheel, panoramic roof, split climate control, head-up display, Wireless mobile charging pad, 360-degree camera that doubles as a dashcam, Harman Kardon audio system with 12 speakers and more.
The i5 M60 upgrades to Bowers & Wilkins with 17 speakers, 20-inch wheels, 4-zone split climate control, cabin carbon finishes, rear steering, upgraded braking and adaptive brakes.
Both models will also be offered with a remote control app, including a digital key, with the option, locating the vehicle, viewing the cameras in the vehicle (internal or external). Owners of an Apple smartwatch will be able to use it to unlock the car.

More models will be launched later this year, including a plug-in/manufacturer website
Charging: Both models have fast charging up to 205kW, which should allow adding 156 km in 10 minutes. The basic model has a slow charging capability of 11 kW and a reinforcement of 22 kW. Safety: autonomous emergency braking when driving forward and backward, adaptive cruise control with lane center keeping, blind-spot vehicle detection, and more.
The new 5 received the maximum score of 5 out of 5 stars in the European crash test.
Warranty: 3 years or 100 thousand km per vehicle, 8 years or 100 thousand km per battery.
Later this year, the rest of the new 5 versions will be launched, including the plug-in version.
