Specifically, in the Old Continent, excluding Germany, the brand delivered 70,229 cars, a growth of 12% compared to 2022; while on the German market the increase in sales was 10%. There was also a positive sign for sales in North America, thanks to 86,059 deliveries, which decreed a +9% growth, and place the geographical area in question as the brand's main market in 2023. The percentage of sales in China decreased, precisely by 15%, which corresponds to a volume of 79,283 cars; Sales in emerging and overseas markets increased by 16% with 52,220 deliveries made.
Among Porsche models, it was the 911 that recorded the largest increase in sales, with +24% compared to 2022, and 50,146 deliveries to customers worldwide. The Taycan also performed well, with 40,629 units delivered, an increase in sales of 17%. Sales of the 2023 Boxster and 718 Cayman models also increased in 718, closing the year with 20,518 deliveries, for a percentage growth of 13%.
In terms of absolute numbers, the Cayenne stands out, selling 87,553 units in 2023, down 8% due to the model change, and the consequent staggered launch in the various international markets. While the Porsche Macan achieved similar numbers to 2022, with 87,355 deliveries; and the previous-generation Panamera delivered 34,020 units in the last year of its life cycle.
"We are laying the foundations for the future and are updating four out of six model series," said Detlev von Platen, Member of the Board of Management and Head of Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. Words that hint at a complex 2024 for the brand.
