A 17-year-old girl was kidnapped in Turkey and then isolated on her return to France by her parents for several months, BFMTV learned from the Nancy prosecutor's office, confirming information from Actu.fr. They inflicted this treatment on their daughter after learning of her homosexuality.

It all started last summer, when the family was on holiday in Turkey, their home country. During the stay, the parents learn that their daughter is a lesbian and that she has a girlfriend, with whom she chats on social media.

Furious, they decided to keep her in Turkey until October. According to the Nancy prosecutor's office, the teenager was then "deprived of a telephone and forced to wear the veil". After their return to Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), she was then "taken out of school and cut off from her relationships".

Slaps and beatings with sticks

The girl's ordeal ended on January 11. Alerted by the CEMMA (Cellule Enfance Meurthe-et-Moselle Accueil), several police officers went to the family home in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy. The 17-year-old girl and her 13-year-old sister, who were also victims of physical violence, were temporarily placed in a shelter.

The parents were taken into custody. According to Actu.fr, citing a police source, they admitted the facts and explained that they had wanted to "treat" their daughter. They also reportedly conceded that they had "slapped and beaten him with sticks". They have been placed "under judicial supervision until June 13, the date of the hearing before the criminal court," according to the Nancy prosecutor's office.
