1.3 tonnes of cannabis.

The Jura customs services made a record seizure for the department on Tuesday afternoon.

A patrol from the Lons-le-Saunier customs brigade, which was traveling on Tuesday afternoon, January 16 on the A39, decided to intercept a heavy goods vehicle registered in Germany and which was coming from Spain.

The road assembly was taken to the Jura area, in Arlay, to be checked.

He was carrying a load of “big bags” of wood, according to L’Est régional.

Tried in immediate appearance

Under this cargo, customs officers discovered bales of burlap which contained strips of cannabis resin, details the newspaper.

They thus discovered 1,270 tonnes of cannabis pollen and 73 kg of packaged cannabis resin.

The Romanian driver should be tried on Monday in immediate appearance by the Lons-le-Saunier criminal court, according to prosecutor Julie Fergane.
