After it was already closed for many months two years ago due to works, traffic on the Sharon Railway will be stopped again from March 1st to May 4th.

The reason: works to connect the rail to the eastern rail, from the direction of Hadera, which will provide service to the settlements of the eastern block of Dan and another alternative to the busy rail in Ayalon.

Due to the works, train traffic will be suspended at the Ra'anana, Hod Hasharon Sokolov, KPS Nordau, Rosh Ha'Ein North, Petah Tikva, Bnei Brak, for about two months; during the days of the works, there will be increased shuttles for train passengers to a variety of destinations (TA, the light rail station in Kiryat Aryeh, and the Herzliya station from where it will be possible to continue the journey by train), and joint teams of the local authorities in question, personnel of the Ministry of Transportation and Israel Railways will work to improve the response to passengers on working days

The works include disassembly of the electrification systems and their reassembly on the new rail route, disassembly and assembly of communication and signaling systems, and removal of dividers.

In addition, Israel Railways will carry out work at the Ra'anana South station to raise the height of the track, the aim of which is to improve safety and service by reducing the distance to board the train from the platform.

These works are complex from an engineering point of view as they are carried out inside a tunnel and on tracks laid on concrete.

In order to make the most of the working days, and to reduce any inconvenience that may be caused in the future, Israel Railways has consolidated a number of projects for the period when train traffic will be suspended, and will carry out essential works in the Bnei Brak area for the construction of a bridge for the establishment of a new residential neighborhood, as well as extensive works to upgrade the tracks, station upgrades, Safety works to raise the height of the rail in order to reduce the clearance to board the train and more.
