The accused, who did not appear on Monday at the opening of the trial in Paris for the Trèbes and Carcassonne attacks in 2018, was arrested Tuesday morning at his home, the court announced when the hearing resumed.

The president of the Special Assize Court Laurent Raviot had on Monday ordered a warrant for Baghdad H., 35, who was to appear free under judicial supervision.

This relative of Radouane Lakdim, tried for a related offense, was arrested "this morning, at his home in Saint-Étienne", and should be in court this afternoon, after an interview with his lawyer Me Jérémie Boccara, specified the president.

The court will then have to decide whether he remains under judicial supervision or whether he is placed in detention during the trial, to ensure his appearance.

In total, seven people are on trial before the Special Assize Court, including five for criminal terrorist association and two for related offenses.

None are on trial for “complicity” in the crimes committed by Radouane Lakdim, this 25-year-old petty criminal from Carcassonne who killed four people including gendarme Arnaud Beltrame on March 23, 2018.
