A Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo became the target of headlight thieves.

Not only was there a lot of damage, but above all it was a strange sight.

Expensive luxury cars are particularly popular with car thieves.

But the criminals are not always interested in the entire vehicle - you can also make good money with parts.

Accordingly, cars are often professionally dismantled overnight.

Sometimes it's catalytic converters that disappear - sometimes the sports car is standing on wooden blocks instead of wheels the next day.

It is particularly annoying when not only parts are stolen, but the car is also massively damaged - as is the case with a Porsche.

Expensive damage, strange sight: headlight thieves destroy Taycan front with tin snips

On the Reddit

platform,

a user uploaded photos (can be found below) of a green Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo from which thieves stole both headlights.

The criminals were not very squeamish: To get better access to the headlights, they apparently cut open the fenders with tin scissors - and folded the sheet metal to the side or upwards.

This not only resulted in expensive damage, but also a rather strange sight.

According to the uploader, the theft took place in Düsseldorf.

“I’ve never seen anything like this done to a car.”

Repairing the electric car is likely to be quite expensive: Since even used Taycan headlights are usually not offered on online marketplaces for less than 3,000 euros per piece and the sheet metal on the fenders also needs to be repaired and painted, the owner can probably afford a five-figure amount calculate.

There is also damage that may not even be visible in the photos.

Hundreds of comments have now accumulated under the pictures of the “cut open” Taycan.

For a vehicle in this price range (new from 94,000 euros) it can be assumed that it is fully insured - which is why the insurance company will probably cover the damage.

Perhaps the owner will look for a garage space after the repairs.
