He had posed as a client to find the woman he married religiously.

This evening in January 2021, Dzemal never found Melissa at the Cité des Indes, in Sartrouville (Yvelines).

The evening degenerated into a fight, which ended with a fatal stabbing of Mehdi, 23, the probable pimp of the 18-year-old young woman.

This Monday, Dzemal, 25, must appear before the assizes in Versailles.

He is being tried there for “violence with the use or threat of a weapon leading to death without intention of causing it”.

Eight other people, relatives of Mehdi including Melissa, will also appear for “violence in a meeting”, a group having beaten Dzemal the next day in revenge.

On the evening of January 23, 2021, the accused went to a building on rue du Maréchal-de-Lattre-de-Tassigny.

“Are you meeting Kenza?”

», we ask him.

He will have to present 60 euros to spend 15 minutes with said young woman.

That's when he shows the hunting dagger hanging from his belt: it's Melissa he came to see.

His interlocutor flees.

A few hours followed trying to contact the one who “drove him crazy” and could make him “break down”… Before two other individuals showed up.

A punitive expedition organized with the help of Melissa

One holds him by the shoulder, while the other delivers 5 to 7 blows to his face and stomach.

“We are going to strip him, take everything he has,” they allegedly threatened.

Curled up on himself, Dzemal tries to ward off the blows.

Then directs his hand towards his belt and, before fleeing, hits one of the attackers with a stab in the lower abdomen.

It's Mehdi.

He died of a hemorrhage despite the intervention of emergency services.

During her hearing, Melissa described the victim, then under judicial supervision for an extortion case, as being her “new boyfriend”.

A man who also “helped” her to prostitute herself, to place advertisements, to find apartments in which to meet clients… And who pocketed half of the earnings.

In the city of India, the phones vibrate, the news of Mehdi's death travels... A group then forms, determined to avenge him.

A punitive expedition is organized with the help of Melissa: by message, and under the eyes of the accomplices, the young woman contacts Dzemal.

She arranged to meet him the next morning in Salbris, near Romorantin (Loir-et-Cher), the area where the young man came from and where he took refuge after his fatal stabbing.

Dzemal will plead self-defense

During the night, Dzemal writes to Melissa, saying she is sorry.

He explains that he was violently beaten and that he believed his life was at stake, as stated by the investigating judge in his indictment order which we were able to consult.

On Sunday morning, two cars leave Sartrouville.

And it was 200 km further, on the market square, that the confrontation broke out: tear gas was released into Dzemal's car, he was pulled from the passenger compartment by his hair, was beaten, the friend with whoever he came is wounded... Once again, Dzemal takes out his knife and strikes.

He inflicts wounds on the right arm of a young man.

The members of this group are being prosecuted for “violence in meetings, with premeditation or ambush and with use or threat of a weapon” and “deterioration of property”.

Before the Versailles court, Melissa will have to shed light on her role, both in Sartrouville and in Salbris.

According to the indictment order, the stabbing inflicted on Mehdi was “very intentional to escape but did not mean to kill anyone”.

For his part, Dzemal's lawyer, Yassine Bouzrou plans to plead "self-defense" in this "sentimental affair".
