Highlights: A 34-year-old man was arrested by the National Police after killing his roommate and landlord with a knife on Wednesday night in a home in Fuengirola (Málaga, 83,226 inhabitants). In the attack, the arrested man also stabbed his own girlfriend, causing multiple wounds, but she managed to survive. In her story, the young woman has assured that her partner is also responsible for the violent death of another man, 34 years old, that occurred last Saturday in the same town. The investigation is open because "many hypotheses" are being considered, as explained this Thursday by the Government's deputy delegate in Malaga, Javier Salas. "We cannot advance further in this regard until the police and, subsequently, the judicial actions determine what happened," Salas said. The young woman remains admitted to the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella, where she is stable in serious condition and pending progress due to multiple stab wounds.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested by the National Police after killing his 51-year-old roommate and landlord with a knife on Wednesday night in a home in Fuengirola (Málaga, 83,226 inhabitants). In the attack, the arrested man also stabbed his own 19-year-old girlfriend, causing multiple wounds, but she managed to survive. In her story, the young woman has assured that her partner is also responsible for the violent death of another man, 34 years old, that occurred last Saturday in the same town. The investigation is open because “many hypotheses” are being considered, as explained this Thursday by the Government's deputy delegate in Malaga, Javier Salas.

The main thesis that investigators are considering is that the arrested man argued during Wednesday night with his girlfriend in the apartment they shared, located on Ibiza Street in Fuengirola. Around 11 p.m., the man stabbed the girl "multiple" times, according to police sources, because she had supposedly threatened to tell on him. His roommate and landlord, a 51-year-old man, was also involved in the fight and died from various stab wounds. When the first National Police patrols arrived in the area, they found the body already lifeless. They soon located the alleged perpetrator, who was still near the area, and detained him.

The woman, who, still injured, had managed to escape through a window, asked for help and assured the police and emergency services personnel that her partner was responsible for another homicide that occurred just four days before, also in Fuengirola. On Saturday, a man found the body of his 40-year-old roommate in the home they shared. He had severe head trauma caused by a strong blow with a golf club. The young woman remains admitted to the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella, where she is stable in serious condition and pending progress due to multiple stab wounds.

The National Police keeps all hypotheses open to find out if, in fact, both deaths are related, as reported by the Government subdelegate in Malaga. “We cannot advance further in this regard until the police and, subsequently, the judicial actions determine what happened” for the “security of the investigation,” Salas explained. The arrested person remains in police facilities awaiting his transfer to the judicial authority.
