Highlights: Dr. Yolanda Yavor, a regular demonstrator in protests against the government, was arrested about two weeks ago during a demonstration in Caesarea. According to her, the commander of the area who arrested her threatened her: "You are a crazy anarchist, I will break your bones and make sure you end up in Shekmah prison." Judge Ehud Kaplan rejected Yavor's request and said that "I have no way of determining whether the things were said or not. The officer will probably deny it. The request submitted according to the law to prevent threatening harassment is not the appropriate procedure to deal with such a phenomenon, if it exists, if at all." The judge also added that "the law to prevent threatening harassment is intended to. deal with stalkers of all kinds and not to provide an answer to citizens who think that the government is harassing them. For this purpose, there are other procedures that are more suitable for. dealing with this phenomenon." The demonstrators in Caesarea claim that the police are being harsh with them and arresting them arbitrarily.

The Magistrate's Court in Hadera today (Thursday) rejected the request of Dr. Yolanda Yavor, a regular demonstrator in protests against the Prime Minister, for a warrant to prevent threatening harassment against a police officer who arrested her about two weeks ago - Sub-Superintendent Shlomi Ben Shoshan. Yavor's complaint comes after the arrest that occurred two weeks ago, in which police officer Ben Shoshan grabbed her by the hand, pulled her from the crowd and arrested her, after he claimed she interfered with the arrest of another protester.

As usual, Yavor was taken for questioning at the Hadera station, where Ben Shoshan also arrived, and according to her, Before she was interrogated, while she was arrested and handcuffed, he threatened her and told her: "You are a crazy anarchist, I am taking you as a personal project, I will break your bones, you will never be a woman, I will make sure that you end up in a woman prison."

The demonstrators in Caesarea claim that the police are being harsh with them and arresting them arbitrarily. Yavor herself has been arrested seven times since December, and twice spent the night behind bars.

Judge Ehud Kaplan rejected Yavor's request and said that "I have no way of determining whether the things were said or not. The officer will probably deny it. The request submitted according to the law to prevent threatening harassment is not the appropriate procedure to deal with such a phenomenon, if it exists, if at all." The judge also added that "the law to prevent threatening harassment is intended to deal with stalkers of all kinds and not to provide an answer to citizens who think that the government is harassing them. For this purpose, there are other procedures that are more suitable for dealing with this phenomenon."

Attorney Orit Shaliu, on behalf of Yavor and the "Arrangement Wrapping Protest Detainees" organization, explained that "We simply ask that this be something temporary in order to hold a discussion on the status of the parties. The fact that the respondent is a police officer, certainly the fact that he is such a senior officer with so many powers, only increases the risk". He added that Yavor is afraid of him personally, "the fact that the respondent is a senior police officer should not create fear and neglect her sense of security," she said.

About two weeks ago, lawyers on behalf of Dr. Yavor began a lawsuit against the police for false arrest. While in custody she slept on a wet bed and without heating. From the judge's decision it appears that there was no reason for the arrest, and that the behavior attributed to her by the police does not constitute a crime. "The court ruled that her behavior of the police is not in good faith."

The Israel Police said: "Ntsam Ben Shushan is a high-quality and respected officer who works day and night for the benefit of the citizens of Israel, impartially and in accordance with the law while exercising discretion. This was also the case with the subject of your inquiry. This is a suspect who violated the order, interfered with the work of the police officers during an arrest, used great force and injured the commander of the area with his hands, and a criminal case is pending against her. Therefore, she has no choice but to complain about her conduct."
