Two hikers on the Brauneck could not believe their eyes when they saw a small car in front of the panorama restaurant on the Brauneck.
The driver was obviously not familiar with the area.
A curious incident occurred at Brauneck near Lenggries.
Two tourists had relied too much on their GPS.
It led them straight up the mountain - including the car.
Lenggries
- Sometimes the
navigation system
can be
very misleading.
This is what happened to at least two Asian
tourists
on Sunday
.
When looking for the
panorama
restaurant
on the
Brauneck
, they completely relied on their
satnav
- which promptly took them by car to the
mountain restaurant
.
Brauneck: Tourists kept to the sat nav and overlooked warning signs
Two
hikers
from
Lenggries
could hardly believe their eyes when they saw the women in the
Mini Cooper
up on the
mountain
.
“It can be pretty dangerous to drive up there, especially without all-wheel drive,” says Marcus Gutt.
"The guy I went hiking with
has never seen it
in the 30 years he's worked for the
mountain railway
."
He spoke to the women and explained that you cannot drive up here by
car
.
“You could already tell that they had started
sweating
.
Presumably the barrier was open below and they probably overlooked the warning signs, ”speculates Gutt.
On her way to the Eibsee, a car driver got into an awkward position near Grainau.
She relied entirely on her GPS - and landed at an altitude of 1,400 meters.
The same happened to a tourist near Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Because he relied on his sat nav, he drove his car onto a ski slope.
