On board the New Ford Transit Courier, connectivity has been designed to optimize operation, starting with vehicle management both via the FordPass Pro app designed for small businesses and via management systems intended for larger fleets.
The free smartphone app allows customers to remotely lock and unlock their van, check its location, monitor fuel spending and receive alerts on the health of the vehicle, such as fluid levels, pressure tires, oil life and brake condition to help prevent costly breakdowns.
Customers with five or more vehicles can then benefit from one year of free access to customized Ford Pro Telematics features.
The system uses real-time data to help maximize productivity, with dashboards dedicated to vehicle location, health and maintenance.
Connectivity includes additional vehicle safety alerts in the event of collisions and break-ins.
With the Fleet Start Inhibit system, fleet managers can also remotely enable and disable the Transit Courier to prevent theft or unauthorized use outside of working hours.
The modem also allows connection to FordLive, the digital control center that reduces maintenance downtime: in 2023 it generated over 700,000 days of additional availability of vehicles undergoing maintenance across Europe producing value for customers of approximately 319 million euros.
Ford Pro Service support is also available through 800 Transit Centers, i.e. assistance centers dedicated to Ford commercial vehicles.
