Damascus, (SANA) - The Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade has been honored in cooperation with the General Organization for International Exhibitions and Fairs

The Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, in cooperation with the General Organization for Exhibitions and International Markets, today honored 98 bodies comprising all the participating countries officially through their embassies in the 61st session of the Damascus International Fair and ministries, institutions and national public, private, Arab and foreign companies.

The Director General of the General Organization for International Exhibitions and Fairs Ghassan Al-Fakiani said that the honoring represents thanks to participation and encouragement to continue in the coming sessions, they are the success partners with the Foundation at the Damascus International Fair.He pointed out that the honoring was in accordance with the criteria, most notably the size and quality of participation and the nature of the products presented.

For his part, Secretary General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry Humaid Mohammed Bin Salem pointed to the importance of honoring because it means a lot to him for being on the sisterly land of Syria in addition to the pride and happiness of our presence in it, stressing the continuation of permanent talks with the Syrian brothers in the private sector on cooperation between companies and all that is New to be positive partnerships and growth to serve the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, Counselor at the Pakistani Embassy in Damascus, Muti-ur-Rahman Bajwa, said that the high turnout of countries, companies and visitors to attend the exhibition is a sign of its importance in showing the opportunities available for investment in Syria.He hoped that this will contribute in boosting the Syrian economy and benefit the country.

Bajwah pointed to the high turnout of visitors to the pavilion of Pakistan in the exhibition, hoping to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the commercial attaché at the Russian Embassy, ​​Georgi Kobzar, pointed to the participation of 16 Russian companies from four regions and republics within the Russian Federation in the Damascus International Fair, noting that many economic delegations held meetings with the Syrian side and signed cooperation agreements, including an agreement between a state company for seaports in Crimea. With the port of Lattakia in addition to the signing of an agreement to establish a commercial house between Crimea and Syria and an agreement to export fruits and vegetables from Syria to Russia.

In turn, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Philippine Embassy in Damascus Alex Lamred expressed his happiness to participate in the activities of the exhibition, which provided an opportunity to introduce the tourist attractions of the Philippines and showcase many products exported by the Philippines to the world, considering that the ceremony honoring the participants in the exhibition shows the appreciation of Syria to the countries and bodies participating in its activities.

Secretary of the Guinean Honorary Consulate in Damascus Ahmed Kamala pointed out that his country's participation is an expression of the good relations between the two peoples and comes with the aim of introducing what Guinea produces, especially with regard to the export of timber.

Dr. Rami Khoury, Director of the International Educational Technology Company, pointed out that the honoring is a great honor and motivated to do more to provide the best in the future, while the Director of the General Establishment for Post Ammar Ali pointed out that the award motivates the institution to provide distinctive and new services continuously.
