2019-09-19T06:37:39.090Z

The Munich Public Prosecutor's Office investigates Airbus for possible secret betrayal in connection with two armaments projects. 20 employees have already been released according to a report.

Due to possible misuse of customer documents, the public prosecutor investigates Munich at Airbus. A preliminary investigation is being conducted against several members of the aerospace company, a spokeswoman for the agency confirmed. The company had turned on the prosecutor himself.

According to SPIEGEL information, the statement by employees in the Communications Intelligence and Security department pointed to irregularities connected with a call for tenders for the Bundeswehr. It should have been found documents at Airbus, which can not get there legally, it is said from circles of the EADS Group against the SPIEGEL. Whether it is a matter of secret betrayal, would now be the investigation of the prosecutor in Munich.

Officially, Airbus simply stated that they had informed the German authorities about the possible unlawful handling of individual employees with customer documents. These documents were related to "two future German procurement projects" in the field of telecommunications. Airbus primarily supplies military customers in this area.

20 employees free

Airbus is working with external lawyers in its ongoing internal audit and assisting the authorities in the investigation. As the "Bild" newspaper reported without further references, about 20 employees of the group were released on Tuesday. Files and computers were secured. For further details of the suspicion, the company and the prosecutor's office did not want to comment.

According to the "Bild" newspaper also initiated the Bundeswehr disciplinary action against an employee. Greens budget expert Tobias Lindner told the Bild newspaper that the aerospace corporation must "clear and clear up right away, and in normal economic life, a company would immediately be excluded from a tender in the event of such a serious suspicion."
