Gold prices stabilized today near the peak they touched in the previous session amid fears of a slowdown in the global economy.
Reuters reported that the spot price of gold amounted to 1521.62 dollars per ounce, little changed, after rising in the previous session to its highest level since September 6 this month at 1526.80 dollars an ounce.
US gold futures fell 0.3 percent to $ 1,527.10 an ounce.
For other metals, the spot price of palladium fell 0.1 percent to $ 1651.79 an ounce after rising to a record high of $ 1664.50 yesterday, silver fell 0.5 percent at $ 18.53 an ounce and platinum fell 0.4 percent to $ 952.80.
