Ascent student loan: More money for training participants

Those who continue their education should receive more money - that was decided by the Federal Cabinet on Wednesday. However, workers still have to wait for the increase.

Anyone who continues to educate himself as a master or specialist or, for example, provides training in social professions as an educator, will in future receive higher subsidies for the course and examination fees. That's what the federal cabinet decided on Wednesday.

The reform of the so-called Ascension-Bafögs - the former Master Bafög - should apply from the next summer. People who take part-time further education should receive more support from the state in this way.

Anyone who does full-time training and has little income and assets will also receive significantly more money for the cost of living. The reform also stipulates that the Ascension Bafög can be used for up to three further training measures in the future. So far, it is limited to training.
