Almost all customers of the insolvent German tour operator Thomas Cook return to the company until the weekend from vacation back. "In the following days, the remaining one thousand remaining guests leave little by little," the company told the news agency dpa.
Currently there are 11,500 vacationers traveling with the German daughter of Thomas Cook. At the beginning of the turbulence after the bankruptcy of the eponymous British parent company, there were about 140,000 travelers.
The company, which includes Neckermann Reisen, Öger Tours and Bucher Reisen, among others, was caught in the wake of the bankruptcy of the British. Three German Thomas Cook companies filed for bankruptcy. All further trips up to and including 31 October have been canceled, even if they have already been paid. New trips will not be sold for the time being.
The insurer Zurich Germany has secured holidays and return travel for the Thomas Cook customers. The company had also commissioned other tour operators to assist the return journey of affected travelers, such as transfer from the hotel to the airport or check-in for the return flight.
For all customers who have booked a package holiday with Thomas Cook, there is usually a bankruptcy insurance. This is proven by the security certificate, which the consumer receives when booking a package holiday.
