ANKARA - The Turkish lira on Thursday hit a new low against the dollar and fell 1 percent. Reuters reported

Ankara-Sana

Today, the Turkish lira fell to a new 1 percent against the dollar.

Reuters reported that the Turkish lira amounted to 5,750 dollars, down from about 5.7 last Friday, while it fell earlier to 5,775.

The lira has fallen about 8 percent since the beginning of this year, after plunging 30 percent last year due to high levels of foreign debt to Turkey under the economic policies of Erdogan's regime and diplomatic and trade disputes with the United States and because of the deteriorating political and security conditions due to the repressive practices of the Erdogan regime under the pretext of the coup attempt in 2016 Which led to economic repercussions on the country.
